I bought this toaster as we had already bought the Prestige kettle. I can't recommend the toaster enough, it does my toast exactly the way I want it to and the blue indicator lights add a bit of extra class to it in my opinion, especially when it "counts down" with the number of blue lights till your toast is done. If you want a nice looking toaster who does the job without fault then this is what you should buy.

Originally got matching kettle ; toaster (4slice) but the toaster was too big for my small kitchen really. My mum got that, and I got the two slice.. This brand and product are real quality. Toast bread amazingly well and they look brilliant. Good price too.

Having a new black and white kitchen we decided on deep red for our accent colour.
The only thing right about this toaster is that the colour is great and compliments our other deep red appliances.
If you too want a toaster that looks right this could be it, however we have not had any good toast from it yet.
We brought it in February and usually get toast that is brown around the edges and white in the middle even after trying several settings
and cutting the slices in half so we are not trying to toast a whole slice per slot.
Would not buy this again. Have thought about replacing it already with a toaster that can make toast!

Overall happy with the kettle - looks nice and it's a bit different from the jug style that you see all the time. One thing I would point out to potential purchasers is that you need to leave it to stand for a short time when it has just come to the boil otherwise if you try to pour the water immediately it shoots out of the spout so forcefully that you end up with boiling water all over the place; in fact, everywhere but in the cup or teapot! Other than that it's fine.

The product took quite a while to arrive, but the seller did keep me informed of the delay. The kettle is lovely, very classy and suits our country kitchen very well. Quick boil and reasonable quiet. I have had none of the spurting problems mentioned in previous reviews, this leads me to think that maybe the customers who have experienced this are over filling the kettle maybe?

I have this kettle in the black trim which I bought about a year and a half ago. At first, I was delighted with it. I have a Dualit toaster and it has been top quality for over 3 years and is still going strong. The kettle boils quickly and looks great and the cordless jug is a good feature. However, the plastic windows which let you see how full the jug is quickly become opaque and, after more use, actually crack. Mine is now so badly cracked that they leak water onto the base and I have to buy a new kettle as it is clearly unsafe. Overall, not the quality I would expect form this brand.

This kettle, with a fairly fast boil, is one of the best I've had. Ok, the chrome is difficult to clean and is prone to getting covered with fingerprints, that for me is the only negative point. A sturdy base, no jugs tipping over or wabbling about when the water reaches boiling point. If the jug is lifted from the base during the boiling process the button automatically switches the kettle off. Overall, a very good buy (even though this was actually a gift lol).

This looks really funky and does everything that can be expected for the price... It's probably best for occasional use and camping, as it takes a while to boil and the handle can become hot. Fab whistle (alarms the cats) and stays looking groovy.

The handle on these kettles gets too hot. You have to use a cloth to pick the kettle up.
Brought it whilst on holiday and can't find where to send it back to!

We were in need of a new kettle and spent a few weeks looking. We're picky ;)
We wanted something slightly retro, well made and easy to clean. The problem with many of the retro-styled kettles is the opening at the top is very very small, which makes cleaning inside an absolutely PITA. We chose the Kenwood because it met all of our criteria. It's easy to clean (with removable filter too), you can get your hand into the kettle without too much difficulty. It's retro looking, the colour is lovely and it looks very smart. Thirdly, it happens to be well made - more so than we expected. Overall we're VERY pleased with this kettle, the ONLY downside is the relatively small capacity, 1.25L. . Given our toaster is on the blink we're considering eventually getting the kMix toaster too :)

I love this kettle! It's very stylish - fits in great with my traditional style kitchen. It's a great colour - the red is not bright, more of a traditional colour. I dont think it's noisy at all and holds enough water for my needs. Some reviews have said the capacity is not good but i can get 4 cups from it which is plenty. I would recommend it highly.

I bought this kettle to go with my new toaster. It was not the kettle which actually went with the toaster, that kettle was the retro shape which I did not want. I prefer this jug kettle and as it is still Tefal it matches well.
It is smaller and lighter than my previous kettle, boils quickly and doesn't have expensive filters to replace.
It is quite noisy but quite quick. All in all I am pleased with my choice.

I needed to replace my old kettle and wanted a red one to match the rest of my kitchen equipment. I liked this one, it is very stylish. I chose Tefal because I know and trust the brand and at first, I was not disappointed; it is excellent quality, it boils water quickly and without making much noise.
However, the big issue for me is that the kettle gets very hot on the outside when boiling, to the point where you can burn yourself, and there's a lot of steam coming out the pourer which engulfs the top of the kettle. (my old cheap kettle barely warmed up).
Had I known that, I would not have bought this kettle. hence the poor rating.

First of, thought this kettle was great value for money but had it less than 6 months and its in the bin. Steam comes out of every crack and cranny and lid eventually wouldnt shut when open and when shut, I needed a knife to prise lid open to fill kettle. Rubbish!

this red jug kettle was just the thing for my all red gadget kitchen. yes its plasticy and its cheap but it does the job required and boiling it fast for a good cup of tea.the lid which flies open(hinged) when you squeeze on the trigger is very handy and works every time(as youd expect) so far and closes with a firm click. with a spout filter inbuilt ,handy measures on the side,quick boil time, and if you follow the instructions you wont taste the new materials- its well worth the money with a 2 year warranty too. how can you go wrong boiling water in this red gadget? with my glass tea pot- it makes for a cheap clean tasting cuppa anything,gift boxed with free delivery taboot - a good or excellent buy.

I bought this toaster and kettle for my elderly mother in law who is revamping her kitchen. They are really good looking and stylish, setting off her kitchen beautifully. After a month or so, they are working fine and seem good quality. For someone with weak arms and a bit of arthritis, she finds the kettle a little awkward as it has a top handle requiring more of a twist on her wrist to empty. Otherwise, she is delighted with both items.

Re-vamping my kitchen, We wanted to cheer it up with Red accesories. Morphy Richards red kettle and toaster seemed to fit the bill. The kettle is fine. But the toaster ,The red covering is chipping off, here and there, the dial has lost all its number instructions,It does,nt toast evenly , and it was expesive. It lives in a cared for home with no children. So if you make a lot of toast Buy another make.

I have to say I love this microwave ! I bought it to co-ordinate with my red Delonghi Toaster and kettle and it is a perfect match - oooh it looks so lovely! It is MUCH smaller than my previous microwave - it is exactly the right size for a large dinner plate ...I like to cook a whole chicken in my microwave and was concerned that the large bowl I use would not fit in ...it did..but not with the lid on so I have to pop clingfilm over it...not a problem. It is very powerful and is also the easiest microwave to use that I have ever had. It is a bit "tinny" but it does the job and looks good too , what more could you want ?

I bought this microwave because i was going red and black in my kitchen, it's a lovely darkish red which goes well with the rest of my stuff, the price was very reasonable, it's a good size inside. I do like the buttons but there is only a few so doesn't help you to cook many things and only 1 defrost button so it is quite limited. Overall it is a nice microwave.

Carnelian Red, eh. Whatever shade that's supposed to be, it's a colour the looks the part. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but, unlike your run-of-the-mill kettles, the on switch has a pleasing red light that shows it's on, and it's also a good size, so you won't walk off without remembering to turn it on (and how many of us have done that?) If that isn't enough, inside is another light that illuminates the window so you can watch the water boiling in a slight blue hue.
Capacity is 1.7 litres, which is enough for about eight cups but even then, it's far from full. (It's a safety feature to stop the water boiling up through the spout.) That spout has a removable filter for cleaning, something I've never seen before in an appliance like this. Yes, it spins full circle on its base for either hand use, which is nothing unusual, but is quite heavy when used at its maximum fill. The stainless steel handle is good and does seem to give the whole thing a better balance. The lid has a couple of lugs to ensure it fits snug, though it also means it needs more energy to remove.
However, it is just a kettle and boils water no faster or slower than any other and it is expensive. It's available in other colours too (well, white and blue).

I love the colour, its a gorgeous red colour and i like the fact that you can spin it 360 degrees on the base.
I don't quite understand why they made the kettle so that the max fill level is only halfway up , seems like a crazy amount of wasted volume in my opinion.
Also im not entirely sure of the fast boil claim because 3.42 minutes seems rather a long time to wait for a kettle to boil, but i only have one other to compare it too so you can measure it against your existing ones for comparison.
It does look very nice in the kitchen though, but im not sure i would of paid this much for it if i was in the market for a new one.
They do however have a fantastic toaster to compliment this which i will list here for you so if you wanted the matching set then you could get the coordinating pieces.

Bought this toaster ; the matching icona kettle in red. Noticed by all who enter our kitchen ; tried by all,well at least the kettle. It has several settings (frozen, reheat, bagle, this toasts one side ; warms the other ; cancel)it takes 4 slices, we have warbertons bread which is quite large ; it fit's in ; toasts ferfectly. There are individual toast colour settings for each side of the toaster,this has saved some bread ; arguments as daughter likes it barely done ; husband turns dial when daughter not looking to darkest brown (on previous toaster). At the rear there are 2 crumb trays, they seem ok to get out perhaps a bit fiddly to get back in but ok. The toaster seems quite quick but then it depends on how dark you have it ; it is very evenly toasted. The paint quality is good ; doesn't show finger marks.There is a recessed area around the top in stainless which does show a few marks but then I suppose it is more durable for constant wiping than a painted surface, crumbs do collect between the two. All in all worth the money ; i think the best toaster we have ever had. Happy Toasting!

I bought this toaster (and also a matching red kettle) after reading all the reviews. I must say, it looks really stunning. It has a nice feel to it too. The toast come out great, I like the fact that you can put two separate sides on different settings. I.e. I use frozen toast for my baby, so use the 'defrost' on that side, and for myself I use just a normal funcion on the other side. I like the look and the paint finish. When my husband saw the toaster first, his remark was 'wow, you parked this one nicely, can I drive it as well? Definitely worth the buy. The kettle too.

Bought both the kettle, coffee machine and toaster together as a set, unfortunately whilst we love the kettle and coffee machine don't understand why they couldn't have made the toaster to the same quality, completely different red because it is was made in plastic instead of metal, nothing we could do as this is how it is made so no alternative

Bought this toaster to replace another Morphy Richards toaster that i had for years but unfortunately finally gave up.
Forget all the comments about "the red not matching the M.R. kettle" etc, etc. If you are not trying to perfectly colour match you appliances and want a great looking reliable toaster then this one is a safe bet.
I personally think the most important thing you want in a toaster is one that makes evenly browned toast and this little toaster does this perfectly.
Thouroughly reccomended.

We sometimes have quite a few power cuts where we live so I purchased this kettle for practical reasons but I have to admit I also think that it looks rather stunning too, it is the most gorgeous colour red and has a very very loud whistle.

I have been looking at these types of kettles for a while now but they where either too expensive or not so nice looking. Then the other day i came across this one and it really stood out with its beautiful gleaming red colour. It came within a couple of days and it has pride of place on my hob in the kitchen. It looks even better than the picture in real life and i think its one of the best buys ive made this year!

This kettle is a bargain, it performs much better than our previous expensive red kettle. It is a far better pourer, it is much quieter, its holds more water and the water display is very easy to see. Don't be put off by the price we have been very pleased with it.

I bought this kettle a month ago and can't fault it; in fact I love it! Apart from the vibrant colour and appealing design, it is easy to use, flip lid button opens the lid for easy re-filling, and lid closes quietly and easily without flipping back open like so many other kettles. I cannot agree with another reviewer, that the flip lid button is in the way when picking up the kettle.
It boils fast and very quietly, and switches off immediately after reaching boiling temperature, unlike some kettles that carry on boiling for quite some while, wasting energy. This kettle has a filter, pours well and drip free, doesn't leak from any joints, there's no paint to flake or chip, as it's made of plastic. The big viewing window lets you see immediately how full the kettle is. As there's no element in the bottom or at the inside, and as the opening is quite big, it's easy to give it a scrub to remove build up of lime scale. Watermarks are hardly noticeable on the outside of the kettle, apart from the silver trim at the top of the rim, this can be polished away with a little lime scale remover. The only slightly annoying thing is that the rubber feet on the base keep the kettle firmly in place, which means that you can't easily pull the kettle towards you by it's cord, or push it aside quickly if needs be. But for some people this might be a bonus, especially, I would imagine, if you have small children. All in all I am extremely pleased with this kettle and would recommend it to anyone.

What is there to say---its a kettle.Delivery was quicker than stated so happy there and after going through 3 electric kettles in 18 months decided to get a stove top one instead;it has a larger capacity than most electric kettles and the whistle is quite piercing so can be heard throughout most of the house;if like me you are fed up with replacing kettles you could do much worse than purchasing this one

i was very pleased in how quick the kettle arrived,less than 2 days.great looking kettle but does take a while to boil even with 1 ltr of water in it.only downside is the whisteling isnt that loud so if your in another room you might not hear it.otherwise i would have given it 5 stars.

It looks good but it's a bit slow and the capacity is surprisingly low, I find we're always refilling it.

Having read a couple of mixed reviews I hesitated before buying this kettle. I had absolutely no need to be worried - this is a well made, well designed kettle that performs as good as it looks. It boils water in a reasonably quick time and doesn't leak when pouring - what more could you want.
Yes it is expensive but it is very well made and looks great

The Morphy Richards Meno 43916 ticks all of the boxes for a kettle. Whether the design is to your taste is subjective, but in the flesh it is a nice, well made, high quality piece of equipment. It's harder than it should be to select a kettle, you'd think it was a simple task wouldn't you? Just give me a kettle that boils water without the need for a trip to A;E or the complains department. If like me you've read reviews of other kettles you are probably getting exasperated by the whole process.
Let me put your mind at rest, this kettle works. The handle is sturdy and comfortable to hold. No steam leaks out to scald you and hence it can be operated is complete safety. It looks and is sturdy. It is designed to be filled through the spout and indeed the instructions recommend this, but just in case, the lid closes securely and the mechanism looks and feels as if it will last. There is a window on each side of the kettle and so even if you are one of these sinister left-handers you can still gauge the water level when filling. The scale is calibrated (randomly) in cups. I would have preferred litres but that's just being picky. The on/off switch works well enough but is plastic and feels the most flimsy part of the kettle. That said, it gives no cause for concern, I doubt it is in any danger of failing.
The Meno is designed to be quite and this works well. I can't say that this was an important element of my selection criteria and silent it isn't, but it has a job to do and it does it more quietly than any kettle I've owned.
The Meno is mettle as opposed to plastic) but it did infuse the water with a slightly unpleasant metallic taste for the first week or so. It took about 20 uses before the taste faded to nothing. We did wonder whether the taste would ever go but eventually it did.
The last two features of note are the blue light from two small LEDs on the base of the kettle. I suppose this makes it easier to see the level of water in the kettle but will be the first feature to fail I suspect (simple is better for a kettle me thinks). Lastly there is a peculiar whistle feature. This is an electronic whistle that starts when the kettle switches itself off. There is a switch on the base to disable it when (as it will) it eventually gets on your nerves.
So a considered four stars for the Meno. It's well made, looks really nice, well designed, quite and accommodates the left handed users amongst us. It loses a star for the metallic taste that in imbued each cup full of tea for the first week. A month in however and I'm very happy with my purchase.

This is not only an attractive kettle it is quick and very quiet. My last kettle was so noisy you had to turn the volume up on the TV when it was boiling on this one if it wasn't for the light you would hardly know it was on. Really like the quirky whistle when it has boiled! Highly recommend it to anyone.

I decided i needed a new kettle for my gas hob and Rayburn and this caught my eye. I wanted a "whistler" and liked the look of this one.The colour is great( there are a few others to choose from) and the design is different and eye-catching. Enamelled inside and out, which i hope to find long lasting ,as i live in a very hard water area. The handle makes it easy to grip and pour,
and not heavy ,even when full. Boils fairly quickly and a good pourer. Overall very pleased with this product. If you want a good well made "whistling " kettle that does the job and won't cost the earth go for this one.

I saw this on the website and thought that these cannisters would look good in my newly decorated kitchen. Upon receipt i was handed a black bin bag with a label on it. Inside were my cannisters in a bubble wrap bag,(Not individually wrapped or even in a box). On closer inspection the paint had been rubbed away and the quality is rubbish. Please don't waste your money on these like i have, as the cost for me to send them back will be more than the product originally cost me.

The quality of these is very poor. The paint is uneven and they're lightweight and cheap feeling. They're also very small. I bought several items in the same range and they're all poor quality - they'll be going straight to the next car boot sale.

I like stylish kettles, and it is one of my few indugences, especailly as the kitchen is one of my favourite rooms. I was wanting to give my kitchen a nice warm feel so thought red would be perfect. At first I looked at this morphy richards sister kettle, the red traditional pyramid version, however I am now so glad I went for this one.
Firstly it get full marks for style- the metalic red finish gives it a glowing dome look that is very striking- plus eay to clean. The longer shape also ads to its design, plus the glass center with a blue hue when it boils.
It has a large good size lid for filling up and holds a generous amount of water- it says up to 8 cups but can esily take another 2. Boiling is very fast, and not to noisy and done effortless with one flick of a switch. Another plus point is the weight- its very light feeling so great if you have weak wrists or arthritis. It is a cordless kettle, which means altohugh the kettle has no cord the plinth is sits on does. The cable is quite short for this- so you need a plug point very near.
The handle is black plastic, which is a bit of a let down, but I still feel it looks good- everyone who has seen it has commented how smart it is.
Overall Im really pleased with it , it does all the things I want to - makes large kettles of water, boils fast, looks terrific and I have not seen anyone else with the same kettle ( unlike its sister pyramid one ) , so would definately recommend .

Looks good and is also user friendly. Button to open lid is great in comparison to the fiddly job of this kettle's predecessor. 360 degree placement on base, wide spout for filling/splash free pouring and speed of operation are its winning features. No problems with noise as another reviewer reported. Thoroughly recommended.

Had this toaster about 3 weeks now and it makes great toast. Nice even toasting all over and nice crunchy toast.
The slots are deep and wide for longer or thicker bread.
The defrost button helps with thicker bread , seems to put the elements on at a lower heat until its thawed before toasting. Not sure about the reheat function doesn't seem to have much use.
Seems to take a little longer to toast than my old cheap 2 slots. Perhaps because of the wider slots but this seems to help with toasting process, rather than quickly browning the outside .
The picture does not do it justice , the colour is a nice deep red .

Looks great, works great - I've always supported Morphy Richards - never had anything go wrong with their products.

Most importantly it pours perfectly. No spills or drops.
Only reason I am not giving this a 5 star review is the knob on the lid is a tad small to grip securely. But that is a minor detail.
Recommended.

the lid is very tight..better than loose i suppose. easy to clean,but no filter in the spout.shame on you. will look elsewhere when it explodes in a year from now.(not that im suggesting that breville kettles explode)wouldnt recommend to a friend.

We bought this kettle as are old one was playing up, the kettle looks good, boils pretty quick but the metallic taste does seem to go on for quite a while, also the kettle is very noisy as it pops and cracks a lot. We will have to see how long it lasts.

Hi all, I purchased this kettle in March 2011 and after a dramatic amount of boiling and using Bicarbonate of soda a few times whilst boiling to remove the "New Kettle" taste from the kettle, it still remained with that horrible taste, had to return the kettle (April 2011) and I am now awaiting on a new one being delivered. In all I liked the kettle, I thought it boiled quite fast and had bought the four slice toaster to match and I'm quite satisfied with that, I will up-date my review when I receive my new kettle and fingers crossed it's ok

The handle is attached at only one point, and after 3 months ours developed a leak at this point, with steam condensing within the handle and dripping onto the work surface. Whilst this is covered under the warranty, I have to take or send this to an approved DeLonghi agent (nearest 20 miles away) and arrange a repair or replacement. I am then expected to return to the agent to pick up the repaired or replaced item. DeLonghi claim they don't reimburse any out of pocket expenses arising as a result of a repair; fortunately, I know my rights and how to enforce them, but it's aggravation I can do without.
The product has an inherent design flaw, and unless you know how to enforce your consumer rights, you will have to pay to get this turkey repaired or replaced. My advice: buy another manufacturer's kettle.

Noise is a relative concept. Is this kettle noisy? Well, noisy compared to what? It is quieter than my last kettle. If you've been using a particularly quiet kettle then maybe this model will disappoint you, but I find it hard to classify it as objectively loud. It is also quick to boil, so even if its low growl annoys you the irritation doesn't last for long.
As for the reports of a funny taste, well, that is quite a drawback for a kettle. Anyone with a kettle that leaves a metallic or otherwise foul taste in the boiled water has a kettle unfit for use. It should be replaced with one fit for the purpose it was sold. I have detected no out of place tastes.
A stiffness of lid is another reported issue among the reviews. It's true it doesn't come off smoothly, but again this isn't a whole lot different to my previous kettle and I'm not sure it's even worthy of comment.
Other than that, the kettle is light and it looks great.

Those of you who have the same criteria as me will understand when I say 'Delonghi Icona' or Morphy Richards 'traditional' kettles... believe me, I've looked into them all!
I finally settled on this kettle as all the reviews I have seen have been positive (no leaking spouts or chipped silver lids here!) and the price is reasonable.
Since purchase I am very pleased with my choice. Looks great, feels solid. The boil isn't loud (which I understand can be an issue with a lot of cheaper rapid boil kettles) and I actually like the blue light that shines when it is "on" (thought I would hate that!).
Point to note: The "minimum" water line is about half a litre, which isn't very eco when making a solo cuppa - but I can forgive that because it's red!

Has a good finish and pleasing appearance, the level indicator is very clear and the blue backlighting quite sexy.
The on /off button is positive, the lid flip mechanism good (except when already hot) and the kettle boils quickly.
When brand new the kettle was quiet but after a few weeks is now as noisy as the one we threw out. This is only a problem if you like to listen to the radio whilst boiling!
All told this kettle is attractive, doesn't take up too much worktop space and gives good value for money.

We have had two of these kettles. regretfully they have both suffered with the same fault. the first ones lid hinge broke after about six weeks. The replacement faired better lasting about 14 months. the kettle itself has performed well boiling quickly and it also has a good pouring spout. It's a shame the lid hinge (which we only use for cleaning after the first one broke) is made of such rubbish plastic. Just love the colour!

Bought this to match the 4 slice red accents toaster. I pour in the water through the spout so have not had any problems yet with the hinge. It heats very fast and a nice feel to it. A nice surprise was that the outside does not mark. After 3 months of constant usage, it looks unused. A product that does not need constant cleaning. Wonderful.

I bought this for my partner's 79yr old mother, who was intent on having "something nice".
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so you can draw your own conclusions on whether or not you like this kettle. If you do, then beware - Argos have been discounting a very similar kettle which (as it's similar) is not quite the same in its design.
On to the practicalities:
This kettle has a larger footprint than most, due to it's conical shape, yet has a slightly smaller capacity than many
The water level indicator is in line with handle and switch. Form over function ... and it's very difficult to see (even when you put the kettle down and turn the indicator to face you)
It's noisy. When it's boiling a relatively small amount of water it's even noisier.
Scale seems to be building up around the rim of the lid
I don't find the handle ergonomic
Household members have taken to wiping splashes off it after every fill, to avoid water marks
On the positive side, it seems to pour without dripping ...

I bought this kettle from Homebase when it was on special offer a couple of weeks ago - cheaper than Amazon. I usually buy supermarket own brand kettles and they last for years, this one was much more expensive. I just felt that the design and colour looked so cheerful and that my kitchen needed something to brighten it up on a cold winter's morning. First off the taste was disgusting, the tea/coffee did taste plastic, another reviewer suggested baking powder, it works and the taste improved. Then, after a couple of uses, a scratch appeared without any obvious cause. Now it looks as though it is starting to leak at the bottom of the water indicator, a bead of water runs down onto the on/off switch, the paint also seems to be lifting at this spot. Is this dangerous? I purchased this as Morphy Richards was a brand I trusted, I am not at all happy about this product.
